Sleep walking is actually a sleep disorder. Scientists are still researching why it happens. Studies have shown that normally, the motor cortex, the part of the brain which is responsible for movement is “inactive” while we are sleeping. The people that sleep walk do not have this, so their motor cortex is active while they are sleeping, which is why they sleep walk.

We are unsure why it happens!
