Although it might seem strange, bugs in our food are very important! These are the creatures that decompose the food we no longer want and return it’s components back into the ecosystem for other organisms to use!

I’m not sure whether you mean bacteria or insects! So I’ll answer both.

There’s bacteria in food because bacteria are everywhere. There are many sorts. Most of the time these bacteria are harmless or helpful. But the bad ones are destroyed by cooking, and their growth is slowed by cooling in the fridge or freezer. As long as you follow the instructions on the packaging you will be fine!

I hope there aren’t too many insects in your food! But some people think we’ll be eating insects in the future as it’s better for the environment.
