• Question: What sort of reactions do you get when you tell people what you do for a living?

      Most people are interested to know what you are researching and how it might be useful for them one day. I haven’t had a bad response yet, so I think generally people think being a scientist is a worthy job to have and that they contribute to society.

      People tell me they think thats very interesting! And whether its difficult to work with babies.

      People go: ‘Oh you must be very clever!’ Which annoys me because working hard is far more important than any natural intelligence at succeeding.
