      Electricity, discovered by Michael Faraday. He was the first person to produce an electric current by moving a wire through a magnetic field. Faraday’s experiment created the first generator, the forerunner of the huge generators that produce our electricity.

      Umm… The discovery of penicillin by Alexander Fleming. It was the first known antibiotic and has saved millions of lives since he discovered it in 1928.

      The discovery that genes were made of DNA by James Watson, Francis Crick, Rosalind Franklin, and Maurice Wilkins. We’ve had so many breakthroughs in understanding evolution, health, and disease based on this one result.
