      Apparently 3.79 million!

      There are about 18-20 different types of penguins (depending on who you ask). Of these, only the Galápagos Penguin is listed as ‘endangered’ by the World Wildlife Foundation, and the Southern rockhopper penguin listed as ‘vulnerable’.
