I think being a scientist is a state of mind, a way of thinking and if I am so bold perhaps even a belief. so i believe a part of me has always been a scientist and I believe anyone can be a scientist if they think in a particular way. However to answer your question, I studied science as GCSE level, A-Level, Undergraduate degree level and now at Master’s level. I got my first job as a trainee scientist in 2014 so about 5 years!

I’ve been doing science from a long time, since school! But I started working as PhD student (proper science work and not study/exams) after 3 years of undergraduate degree and 1 year of master’s.. so 4 years!
