My best discovery wasn’t really new, but some scientists weren’t paying attention to a particular fact known to other scientists (they thought a process only went forwards, when it could go backwards too). I did some further investigation to show that this was important, and might be useful in trying to help treat certain cancers. But this is very early stage, and I don’t know whether it will be at all useful in reality, and someone would still need to invent a new drug (which is very hard)!
Something brand new? Not really. I have used existing knowledge to create a quick and easy test to check if certain types of drinks are genuine though. I did this by applying the existing knowledge in a new way that no one else had thought of.
Not yet… but hopefully. A PhD is basically awarded to you when you do something that nobody else has done before. So maybe towards the end of my PhD I will have discovered something new, who knows!
Hi there, I think thats misconception. Both maternal and paternal genes are equal. Except in some cases for example mitochondrial DNA, where mother’s genes play a bigger role.
