      Yes, they move back and forth when we are in the deepest bit of our sleep pattern – so much so that this type of sleep is called REM sleep, short for rapid eye movement!

      Yes they do! In fact one type of sleep is called ‘Rapid eye movement’ (REM) sleep, because people’s eyes move quickly and randomly during that part of sleep. It’s often the sort of sleep you’re in when you’re dreaming deeply.
