      I answered your second question today in the chat so I’ll pass that one for now and answer the first one.

      Photons are both of the things you said. They are the smallest amount of energy that you can send using light. Because they carry energy we can actually use them to send messages and information to each other. This is the basis of why I’m trying to build a computer using light (instead of electrons).
