The dictionary definition of science is:

“the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.”

Its basically trying to understand the world around us, how everything works, and how it all interacts.

I think Deborah summed it up really well! It is the study of the world around us!

Science is the process of predicting what will happen, designing experiments that will test that prediction, and then seeing whether your prediction was right or not. Bit by very small bit, we add to what we know (whether our predictions were right or wrong).

One important thing about science is changing your opinion whenever the experiments showed you were wrong. Of course this can be very hard, but it’s what makes a great scientist.
