Nope, time travel is not possible at the moment. Its extremely complicated but at the moment scientists say that travelling in time would mean travelling faster than light – and that’s not possible. But there it may be possible by using general relativity, Einstein’s theory of gravity that unites space and time as “spacetime”, which curves in the presence of mass.
Not yet… it would require a huge amount of power, enough to modify gravity and change the relationship between space and time. Theoretically its quite straight forward, we just don’t have the technology yet.
But if you had indeed gone back changed something in the past there would no change in the future because it would already have happened, surely time travel will destroy the fabric of the universe because of this. Besides would the world explode if you saw yourself.
I thought that Issac Newton had the ideas about gravity.
The multiverse theory covers this. It proposes that at every decision point the universe branches off into every possibility that could of happened – think of it as alternative realities. In *that* universe I slept in and skipped breakfast so was cranky and had an argument with my friend and cancelled my plans to go to a party with him. In *this* universe I woke up on time, went to the party and met the love of my life. Does that make sense? In the multiverse theory we’d travel back in time to a universe where everything was the same *except* that someone had gone back in time.
No one knows what would happen if you saw yourself, its never happened before.
Issac Newton first explained gravity. I’d say discovered it but its not like it didn’t exist before then. Einstein combined it with time and matter creating the spacetime theory.
